Shara brings a unique perspective and skill set to Sabino as she spent the majority of her earlier career in public health working with individuals dually diagnosed with a variety of substance use and mental health disorders, complex trauma, and extreme environmental and social inadequacies. The challenges faced in this arena have provided her with a strong base of practice in assessment, treatment, and case management.

Shara is also a trauma survivor and advocates for treating all individuals through a lens of trauma. Her extensive personal and professional experience gives her the knowledge and passion to train, educate, and treat every individual she encounters.

Since joining Sabino in 2019, Shara has been instrumental in crafting a tailored, progressive treatment program that uniquely addresses the nuances of trauma, yielding remarkable outcomes in client recovery. Her responsibilities also include clinical content oversight, a role that involves rigorous evaluation and refinement of Sabino’s clinical content, ensuring it is both scientifically grounded and empathetically delivered. Her certifications in NARM, EMDR, Brainspotting, DBT, and CPT, along with her advocacy for viewing treatment through a trauma-informed lens, significantly inform her approach, emphasizing an integrative and person-centered methodology in clinical practice.

Shara’s commitment to transcending traditional diagnostic labels to focus on individualized care exemplifies her dedication to fostering a holistic and stigma-free environment that promotes lasting healing and resilience among those served by Sabino.
